Picture book.

Walt: Write for a younger audience. 

On a cold afternoon bunny 1 and bunny 2 wanted to go and discover the 8 planets near the moon. So they had a visit to NASA to fly off in the air they were really really excited but they had a problem here.

So bunny 1 and bunny 2 accidentally pressed a button, ohhh no what to do, you pressed the wrong button bunny 2. 5 4 3 2 1 BLAST OFF.


Taking off in the rocket bunny 1 and bunny 2 didn’t know what to do so they quickly put on there astronaut suits. While bunny 2 was sitting down he thought that mercury was a town, then bunny 1 saw something ahead while looking it was mercury again. It was way too hot for them.

Blasting right off to the 2nd planet venus was our next medium planet. So bunny 2 hippity hopped couldn’t wait so she stopped they thought it was familiar they thought it was to brown they thought it wasn’t the right planet for them to sit down.

Looking at this planet looked much like home so they skipped to the 4th one and off they go.

Before they would go and hippity hop on this planet they said we need to discover this mars planet. Bunny 2 said there would be much much trouble i think you can not stand on this big giant bubble.

Rushing to the 6th planet jupiter, bunny 1 was acting familiar he was running and running not to stop he couldn’t wait to meet the next lot. Just jumping up and down bunny 2 sat right down he knew there was heaps of air in it so bunny 2 told bunny 1 to not to touch it.

Going on with the next planet saturn not far ahead they looked and looked until bunny 2 hit her head she had a big lump while jumping right outside bunny 1 told her not to jump before you get a bumpy ride. so they skipped took off to the next planet.

Uranus was our next stop they were really really brave hippity hop on the ship was a blue planet out of space. Neptune was the only one lieing on it’s side which he was really lonely orbiting round the sun on the outside.

Neptune is the last, the farthest planet in the solar system lets take of for a blast. It was really really dark they knew this planet had heaps of rain or lightning or even though like storms.

So bunny 1 and bunny 2 straight away went home woohoo bunny 1 was really excited so they went to Nasa to fly their rocket. So bunny 2 was so relieved that they're back home from earth whew where are we they got really really dizzy that they gave information if the planets were alright they said oh my this planet is indeed really good for limiting you may go bunny 2 and bunny 1 you are believed have a happy ending.

Task description: We have been learning about our solar system
and how it works weather we are talking about Pluto or the eight
planets. Sometimes we have been learning about interesting things
like how they go around the sun for a year which is really really long.

Post card

to write a post card to someone about your first time landing on any kind
of planet what planet would you choose? When i land on planet mercury
i give information about what this planet is about we also have to write
about who you are giving this post card too so i started to go with the
teacher mr somerville i was really excited for doing this amazing post card.

order some are really really interesting like Neptune having 14 moons of 
it's own self. Sometimes we have been talking about when it took ages 
to discover this planet like mercury because it was too hot that scientists 
couldn't study it because it will heat you up.

Space writing.

Walt: Structure a narrative piece of writing.

This year in 4017 a place of extraordinary od dinosaurs who are really sometimes mischievous. But ahead of all creatures a volcano is going to explode any minute so me and my friend hinerangi are trying to escape our own planet but we are really looking forward to something we can fly in. While looking around we took a day before the volcano will explode so we laid down until we felt something bumpy i got up and saw something strange and while taking a longer look i knew it was a jet so hinerangi pressed any random button but then with a mighty blast we exploded up in the air to finding a new planet.  

Just as me and hinerangi got to this ordinary planet we finally landed we got out and saw all types of different space animals even aliens that i wasn't expecting to see, but anyways i was really excited that no other animals were really mental. Once looking around the planet no one knew us but they did look nice but i wanted them to have their moment of piece. Suddenly everyone like the space animals and aliens looked straight at us? So when they just kept looking we wanted to walk and walk but they kept following i was really annoyed. So then me and hinerangi had to run we ran as fast as we could to find a place to hide and they were at our tails so we found a cave and quickly got in.


Just while everybody and that was gone we finally ran to a different other place so that nobody finds us. Meanwhile as it was getting dark we went to sleep and had a rest from running. In the morning me and hinerangi woke up but then they had a big problem they didn’t know where they were at that time, they thought they were at the places where the space animals spot we were scared so we sneakily crept out and kept seeing if anyone like scary aliens would come. When walking around suddenly they saw one of the space animals they were terrified so they walked backwards and accidently bumped into someone oh no they knew it was the aliens they quickly ran but couldn’t escape they were getting crept out they would cook them for dinner.

As me and hinerangi was scared a voice that came out of nowhere mighten of cam from the space animals our the aliens. I talked back to see if it was them so it came again i told if it was them the aliens said yes it was really creepy but they weren’t scary at all so we started to keep talking so we can get along from them trying to cook us. I started to say are you trying to cook us they said no the spaceanimals thought that you were trying to ruin the planet by running away and stealing stuff to take to your other planet. Hinerangi said we would never do that unless we should be going to find another planet.

The aliens told us if you wanted to stay we said of course so we started to play along like tag and hide and clap. Sometimes we go and do some funny things or tell stories like long or short we also live in a scary cave i really miss my other planet but it was gone by a volcano anyways where all the stuff i had from memories.

Task description: In room 7 we have been learning about space and planets in our solar system. Out of all these planets they are named after the roman god like mars, Jupiter, and all kinds of them but mostly the stars there are most of them around the world and especially did you know that these sand grains the tiny bits don't have more then our stars around earth. Sometimes we talk about what these planets was and what they had in them.

having lots of fun about spear fishing it is a really good learning. It is 
my second time spear fishing only when it is low tide this is when i have 
a trip at Rarotonga i was surprised but scared at the same time.

Task description: Today's task for room 7 is spear fishing I've once been spear 
fishing when i was about 7 years old i was really scared because you had to go 
out in the reef it was low tide their were many kinds of things especially corals, 
and rocks we would always go out for fish this is when i was out in rarotonga 
it was my first time when i did it was fantastic. But for our reading we had been 
reading a book about fishing you could read the writing in the box if you want to
but it was a octopus reading i don't really like octopus thats my number one thing.

Problem solving

Walt: To be able to write out fractions.
Task description: Today we have been learning about fractions for 
maths in only room 8. I have been writing them on my presentation 
and doing the answers to solve the problem, and to make sure that 
my answers are right in the big red box. This task for room 8 is 
sometimes easy and hard it is sometimes different to what learning 
we do but i think i'm sure i can manage the hard fraction. 

Kayaking

Walt: Make connections with what we already know with what what we read.
I have chosen Slalom K1 Kayak and a orange background with a red outline. The pick of patterns that i did was a stripped line that is the color red going across of my kayak. Just thinking this kayak could be enjoyed by teachers who is interested in getting into kayaking. The colors was really easy to much to pick but was really funky looking.

Task description: For room 7's learning we have been reading all about kayaking this was a drawing of my picture that i have decorated which was the only colors red and orange there was different kinds of boats which were funny and some were cool. But it was enjoying there were to much colors to pick for this kayak.

Jorelle Eating Insects

it was terrible looking it was short and creepy. But anyways these were
the crickets or the terrifying crickets. Just when we chewed the crickets 
it was crunchy as we heard crackling in their teeth i wasn't sure to eat these 
crickets.

Insect and spider

Walt: Make connection's across multiple text's.

Just another day on thursday a insect called Selatapedia was at a wonderful spring garden walking on every showery green leaf. While ago a jumping spider came by named qwagalian was having another day in the wonderful garden just looking around. Suddenly selatapedia was just walking backwards on top of a towering tall leaf and slipped on a big patch of water and slipped at the corner and was trying to hold very tight on a medium speckled leaf and needed help.


But just as qwagalian was walking around in a chilling way he was wondering if he wanted to go back to where he was so then he turned around and walked back to the spot that he was at. Just walking along jumping around ignoring past other insects and spiders he didn’t see where he was going so he stopped and looked around and didn’t know where he was and got lost.  Qwagalian was frightened from where he was, just when he looked straight up the top a tremendous big puddle splashed on top of both eyes and splatted all over him too. But with qwagalian’s eyes he saw 3 pairs of tiny legs and wanted to see what it was or needed somebody’s help so he jumped to that leaf and saw qwagalian stuck.

So he grabbed selatapedia and pulled him right up and qwagalian was thanked from selatapedia and they both walked back to all the other insects and spiders and had a joyful day.  

Task description: This is a task about spiders and insects, so then we had to write 3 paragraphs in this story but first it was supposed to be planning it is important so that we know what were writing about. It was all about a spider and insect wondering around but suddenly??

Well for those who don't know what ecosystem is it's like living things, that are plant's, or animals. What is in the ecosystem is a niche, or a role to 
play with, like anyways if you have small living insects or animals outside like a fly and a beetle
eats the fungi then the fungi will be gone and you keep repeating. Until it looks like the rubbish logo like a water cycle and that's what a ecosystem is. 






Task description: This is a ecosystem which is up 
top next to my picture that i did about my ecosystem
if you're wondering what a ecosystem is just read
the black sentence. But anyways this was what 
we had done like a water cycle like my picture 
and had learned many of the spiders and bugs.

My spider

Information:
This very interesting spider is called a Qwagalian. It is a spider that has 4 pairs of legs and lives in a dark raining forest it is a kind of suspicious spider that can camouflage on other varied leaves but that is only green. But sometimes this spider can jump weirdly and is super fast.

Task description: This is all about spiders which we room 7 reading have been learning about. It is all about interesting spiders that we create and write about. That i already have, the names Qwagalian it has quite much about itself.

Chatham island black robin

A Chatham Island black robin bird which is a really small songbird that sings. But most of all this bird is 10 Cm height, this little black bird was found on the Chatham islands they lived at Rangatira (south east) island. This bird loves to eat insect in deep layers of litters found of flat areas in the forest.

Walt: Using different vocab.
Task description: This is about learning insects. So we had to chose 
four insects like a ladybug, mosquitoes, dung beetle's, and last but not least 
bumblebee. I picked a bumblebee because these are hard working little 
bumblebee's that is why i chose this one and we had to watch videos of
them and had to write what they always do that we had to write a long 
sentence which was only supposed to be 5 - 3 but i did?

My Creative insect Selatapedia

This bug is called selatapedia it is a good bug that goes and lives in the forest. It eats some leaves on trees that are only green, but especially this bug selatapedia can stick on green leaves and when it comes to rotten leaf's they will fall easily and hit. Sometimes it can’t see where it’s going, sometimes it digs holes in the trees which will be really deep to make a home for it. It doesn't really like dark but love's light.


Task Description: Room 7 literacy are learning about everything from bugs and the fun thing we did was we created our own fun insect bug mine had a really funny looking bug and had a interesting name called selatapedia. It was only the colors blue and yellow it looked of course like a spider but really spiders have 4 pairs of legs on each side except for three like a bug and of course a spider is not a insect.

Year 5 & 6 camp.

Walt: write about our experiences on camp.

Have you ever been on a cold windy camp before? Year 5 & 6 went to camp and had heaps of activities to do at summer. I was so excited that we were going to camp on Wednesday 8th of march.

The year 5 & 6 are going to camp starting on Wednesday till friday. When we got to camp we saw tents which is only 2-4 kids only in the tent, and we had started camp at Pt England School there were helpers and teachers to. It also has a activity rotation which are get lost, kayaking, basketball, rollerblades, and loads more fun things but the one that i was waiting for that i didn’t get to do was bike track i was wanting to go on but never mind any ways there were heaps of things to do.

My favorite part about camp was kayaking. When we first started kayaking it was raining really hard and the wind hit us and we got goose bumps everywhere and we all had to run to Pt England beach. Just when we got there at Pt England beach we had to go by the sand where Mr Burt was so we all ran to the sand and had to sit down and get squashed up so we don’t lose each other.
So then our team had to walk all the way to the water where the kayaks were dragged and while we were walking there was heaps of sharp shells and crabs that dig in the sand to hide themselves but i kept standing on sharp shells. Just when we got there we went on a kayak with 2 or 3 but i went with my friend Naomi so we jumped in and paddled but some of us got stuck and all of us were struggling to go away from the shallow place. But when we paddle we have to go around the green pole but i didn’t go around the pole couple of times.

Thank you helper teachers families and also leaders for helping us team at dancing and making a funny dance for us. But also helpers thanks for helping us and looking out for us if we need help. Of course the teachers were really helpful and taking our teams to the right places were supposed to go.

At camp where it is at Pt England School i learnt tons of things at camp. I learned how to do things that i didn’t know or done before in a short time. Because there is prizegiving for year 5 & 6’s, there was a lot of kids at the hall and heaps of parents and some from Pt England School cheering for every team. This was a amazing camp this year at Pt England School i wouldn't done this without you all.  


Task description: What we did at Pt England School was go to camp on Wednesday 8th march and we had a activities rotation there were loads of fun things to do i really like kayaking on camp for the first day but not when it was cold and raining but it was loads of fun anyways. But although there was a problem that we didn't go on the bike track on the last day and i thought that i was going to go on the bike track but we didn't get to and i felt sad.
